Ascend - 75 Hard Challenge Tracker

Last Updated: July 24, 2026

Introduction

Ascend ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: your data is stored privately in your own iCloud account, not on any server we operate, and we never see it.

How You Sign In

Ascend uses Sign in with Apple as its only sign-in method. There is no username or password to create or remember. Depending on what you choose to share when you sign in, we may receive your name and email address (Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your real one — that's your choice, made through Apple's sign-in screen, not something we control).

Where Your Data Lives

All of your challenge data — daily logs, cycle tracking, activity history, badges, and profile information — is stored in your own private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit), not on servers we operate. We do not have a company database of user data, and we cannot access, read, or export your data even if we wanted to — it's protected by your iCloud account the same way your Photos or Notes are.

Some app preferences (like notification settings) are stored locally on your device only.

Information the App Collects

Information You Provide

Information From Apple Health

If you grant permission, the app reads step count, workouts, sleep, and water intake from Apple Health (HealthKit) to automatically fill in your daily log. This only happens with your explicit permission, granted through Apple's own HealthKit authorization screen, and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

How Your Information Is Used

Your data is used only to:

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

The only outside parties involved are:

One-Time Account Migration (Existing Users Only)

Ascend previously used a different backend provider (Appwrite) for accounts. If you're an existing user migrating to the current version, the app offers a one-time import: you sign into your old account once, and the app copies your existing challenges, daily logs, cycle tracking, activity history, and badges into your iCloud. Your old account credentials are used only for this one-time read and are never stored by the app. New users never encounter this step.

Data Retention

Your data persists in your iCloud account for as long as you keep the app installed and signed in. Deleting your account (Profile → Delete Account) removes it immediately. We do not separately retain backups of your data — there's nothing on our end to retain, since your data was never stored by us in the first place.

Children's Privacy

Ascend is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Cookies and Tracking

Ascend does not use cookies or third-party advertising trackers. There is no ad network integrated into this app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.

Consent

By using Ascend, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
